Message From The Director
The CHUM aims to become the world leader in transforming health through artificial intelligence to benefit the public. The introduction of technologies based on artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly common throughout society, and the health sector is no exception. We are seeing the emergence of new technologies to help, for example, predict health status, diagnose illnesses, and personalize treatments. These innovations will transform trades and professions, necessitating changes in practices, processes, and structures. They will also require the development of new knowledge and skills.
This is why the CHUM, together with the Université de Montréal, its faculties and schools, has created the School of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (SAIH), whose mission is to help teams working in the health field embrace new technologies and to stimulate the thinking required to integrate AI humanely, ethically, and responsibly. The school’s mandate is to develop practitioners’ knowledge, generate new competencies through experimentation and impact measurement, and disseminate them throughout the world.

To build it, we are working in alliance with a thriving ecosystem of educational institutions, public and private partners, both national and international, and a network of more than 100 teaching hospitals worldwide. We have adopted a collaborative approach.
